What Parents are saying about the Peery Academy ...

Working under a master teacher and with a small group has been equally challenging, motivational, and fun. The Peery Piano Academy curriculum is clear, and the incentives encouraging. I'm thrilled with how well my daughter plays the piano!

I am absolutely in love with the program! I like the charts best of all, as they help me know exactly what to do each day to help Zachary practice. They really help Zachary, too, as each little checkmark is a small sense of accomplishment. I really like that the program tackles several areas of competency at once -- building reading skills, musicianship, technique, etc., all at the same time but in very small steps. It is how I had initially learned piano. I like that the kids learn interesting pieces ... it makes learning more interesting. Overall, I am thrilled with the class! He (Zachary) does very well at home and enjoys being able to play. Thanks!

I have been very happy with the training my children are receiving at the Peery Piano Academy. They are receiving a strong, proper foundation in both piano and general music principles. What makes it a unique experience is that coupled to that foundation, they are also having opportunities to enjoy sharing their music with their peers in a group lesson setting. They are also developing good habits in being organized and accountable for practicing through the charting system used at the school.

We love that the program provides individual tutoring in a group setting. My daughter loves to attend class with friends and the instruction she receives, along with her very supportive teachers, keep her motivated to achieve her own goals.

The piano program at Peery Piano Academy is outstanding. Their focus on building their students' essential "good piano habits" is very effective and we've seen tremendous progress in our daughter's development in a short period of time. Best of all, she loves the fun environment they provide. It's been a great experience for her!

My children have especially enjoyed interacting with other children taking piano lessons. Because they are performing, and get to see others perform on a weekly basis, they have remained motivated to finish songs and start new ones. Instead of seeing lessons as an endless march through song after never-ending song, they feel a sense of accomplishment because they can see the upward progression in the songs they play.

I think (the Practice Charts) are very helpful in keeping track of assignments and progress. Interestingly enough, Jessica wants to mark her achievements/results each time we practice. Contents: on each lesson it is a real learning curve. So far, even on the most difficult weekly assignments, the first two days of practice might be hard; but the last two days (given five or six days a week) are becoming increasingly easy.

Results: exceed expectations. From my personal experience, the most important thing is to keep the child interested in the musical lessons. The lessons should feel like a play, not a hard job (and we all know the latter is the real case, of course :-) ) I see my daughter enjoying her learning and making good progress.

I've thought that your Peery program has been just great. I've liked the way that the lessons have progressed, very carefully and thoughtfully building on skills each week from a variety of different vantage points so the kids aren't bored. I like the charts (we both get a sense of satisfaction in checking off the boxes). And the kids have progressed very nicely as a group. I've been very pleased with Catherine's development as a pianist and as a musician. We're very happy with the program and the classes.

I have been very happy with the Peery system and am impressed with how quickly Emma has learned to play the piano! I grew up with piano lessons from the University of Toronto, Royal Conservatory of Music in Canada so I have that system to compare to. I think the Peery system is very good in instituting a formal practice system with the finger exercises, theory, and songs.
